Who we are

BarcoEquipado is an independent project run by boating enthusiasts. It started from a simple wish to buy well: picking an anchor, a set of fenders or a life jacket and not knowing whether the model suits your boat. So we compare boating gear from a boater’s point of view and link it to the products you can actually buy on Amazon today.

We have no ties to any manufacturer or brand in the industry. We do not sell anything ourselves, and nobody pays us to be listed or to get a better spot on the page.

Methodology

Every comparison follows the same steps:

1. Technical criteria: we start from what matters on the water: boat length, type of boating, corrosion-resistant materials and the safety regulations that apply.
2. Amazon selection: we automatically search each country’s Amazon and only show products whose title genuinely matches the product type. Accessories and generic listings are discarded.
3. BarcoEquipado score: products are ranked by our own score, which combines the average rating with the number of reviews (a high average from a handful of reviews counts for less). There are no brand bonuses.
4. Availability: stock is re-checked automatically every Monday and Thursday. Out-of-stock items are hidden until they come back.

To be upfront: we do not physically test the products. We analyze spec sheets, regulations and buyer reviews. We do not accept paid placements. We can still get things wrong, so if you spot a mistake, email us and we will fix it.

• Like any web server, our host logs minimal technical data (IP address, date and requested page) for security and operations. These logs are kept only as long as needed and are never used to build profiles.
• When you click a link to Amazon, you leave BarcoEquipado. From that point Amazon may set cookies and process your data under its own privacy notice.
• If you email us, we use your address only to reply.

We do not sell your personal data, and we hold very little of it to begin with. Whether you are in the United States, the EU, the UK or anywhere else, you can ask us to access or delete any data we may hold by writing to hola@barcoequipado.com.

BarcoEquipado does not use its own cookies. It is a static site: it stores nothing in your browser, which is why you will not see a consent banner here.
